August Challenge

Welcome to August!

Summer is starting to wind down (or winter, depending on where you live), and we had better get going to keep our momentum up when fall starts.

This is your place to post health-related goals, questions, advice, and updates. Have a great month!

I didn't keep to my goals as well as hoped last month, but I still lost more weight than anticipated. I'll take it! My goals are going to be the same as in July.

Goals for August:

-run 3x a week (doing Couch to 5K, but repeating some weeks)
-free Saturday Zumba
-free Sunday yoga

-keep up the fruit
-kale or swiss chard at least 2x a week (plus other greens)
-more calcium and iron (I haven't been getting enough of these the past couple weeks)
-keep tracking food at least 5 days/week

-hip stretches twice daily
-get up on time, seriously, stop sleeping in every single day (I feel like I can always sleep more, is that weird?)

I need to exercise again period.
Mon-Thurs I should yoga or run daily. The next few weeks I'm aiming for 2-3 times/wk if I'm travelling or working, more if I'm not.

I also want to keep a food diary.

I walked 94 last miles last month; though it wasn't as good as June's 114 miles, it was still pretty decent. I'm still planning to do my walking routine in August, but shake it up a bit by adding some indoor aerobic activities and some weightlifting. My routine will possibly change quite drastically toward the end of this month, but I plan to continue exercise one way or another.

- Go to sleep at a decent time. 3 AM only ends in misery, when you have to work at 11.
- Swim 15-30 minutes a day.
- See how many tomatoes it takes until lycopenemia sets in.
