So I've been a vegetarian on and off (mostly on) for about 14 years....with a few very brief stints of going vegan (usually for a couple of months).  In early 2011, I was at my heaviest weight...85 POUNDS overweight!!!!  Since then I've really stuck to a lacto-vegetarian diet and managed to lose over half of that excess flab I've been carrying around.

Recently, I've hit a bit of a plateau...due to some injuries, I just can't workout on a regular basis, and the weight wasn't coming off as quickly as it used to.  Though the "good" days are starting to outnumber the bad, fitness plans have been difficult to adhere to because of the extra pain factor and being horribly accident prone (ex. I just sprained my ankle a few days ago)...

My friend encouraged me to take the 30 day vegan challenge, which has been AMAZING.  While I wasn't consuming tons and tons of dairy, I've had some pretty amazing results from cutting it out!  It's been two weeks so far, and I feel pretty great.  I've been able to sleep the last few nights without any added natural sleep aids, and I've lost 5 pounds in the past week despite not being able to do much cardio (due to the ankle sprain).  I'm not even bummed out about the lack of dairy in my diet (thinking about the dairy industry was already weighing pretty heavily on my heart).  I plan on sticking to veganism after the 30 day challenge is over.  :)

That's amazing, congratulations! grin.gif

I also noticed some positive changes when I went vegan, I lost a bit of weight and I noticed I got less tummy aches and was less phlegmy. I quit dairy for ethical reasons but it's worth doing for SO many reasons rockon.gif

Eating dairy was weighing pretty heavily on my mind, so it was pretty easy to just quit.  I'd rather have peace of mind and good health than consume dairy!
