I know it's not 'whole', but is it whole but just smaller / thinner etc.?
Are the vitamins still present or is that overly processed ? I'm a bit confused. The lady where I bought them said they were just as good, they just cooked quicker? then someone else told me it wasn't even half as nutritious to eat those?

The more something is processed, the less nutritious it becomes. There's not really any way around that. The best example I can think of would be oats. It starts out with whole oat groats, then steel cut oats, rolled oats, instant oats, and then oat flour. So the millet flakes will still probably have a fair amount of nutrients in them (I can't say for sure though, I'm not really familiar with millet flakes inparticular). But your best bet is whole millet.

thanks skydog useful info.
this was my assumption too but like you, not sure how it works for millet and things that are just flaked not really.. cooked or processed further. they taste excellent and work better in porridge than whole millet so i'll just stick with it and make sure i eat other whole grainey things throughout the day i guess

Sounds like a good strategy to have, and I'm glad I could help.
