Oh my.... this is the most embarassing thing I've ever posted anywhere, but I am simply mortified right now....

I forgot a tampon was in!!! For probably 2 days!!!!

I noticed it today..... the string and the smell The smell seems gone now that I removed it, I took a shower right away and cleaned well.... I have no symptoms of TSS..... what should I do??? should I call my doctor???

Seriously, I have always feared doing this, I tend to check obsessively..... what a nightmare!!

:blushes and runs away:

i'd call the doctor just incase. on a gut level i think if you were gonna have a TSS type issue you'd probably be sick by now, but it'd not hurt to get an opinion from a medical person. is there an out of hours number you can call?

Yes, call a nurse helpline if you have one in your area. Maybe you can check a local hospital website and see if they have one. They can tell you whether you should see a doctor immediately or let you know what to look for.

Definitely talk to your doctor! It's possible that you could have an infection and it's best to get that looked at, just in case.

And don't be embarrassed. It happens! I once put one in without taking the old one out. When I went to take it out I noticed two strings and was like 'oops how did that happen?"

I would guess that you're fine, but go to your gyno just to be sure!

If your mind will be more at peace after seeing a gyno I think you should go

I would say the moment you think you have even a single symptom go to the doctor, or go now if you need the peace of mind.

My advice:

GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET YERSELF CHECKED OUT!!! (better safe than sorry, no kidding!!!!!!)

Then afterwards, buy yourself a mooncup/diva cup/box of Instead cups and learn how to make sure you got nothing lurkin up in there in 'tween those moon times.

IMO, when it comes to a woman and her yoni, there's NO such thing as too safe.

I did that once. If you're not experiencing any symptoms, you're probably fine. Give your doctor a call if it makes you feel better; s/he will probably ask you some questions and advise you to make an appointment if you experience fever, nausea, or lots of discharge.

TSS, while serious, is also extremely rare.

If you were to get toxic shock you would've already had some symptoms by now. So I think you can relax.

OT: What in the heck is that smiley?!

Did you write the book of love, and do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so? Do you believe in rock Ân roll,
Can music save your mortal soul, And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Just wanted to update, I was planning on calling my doctor the next day (and of course if I had even one symptom of TSS) but the next day everything seemed so fine I decided not to bother. Everything is fine now, lol. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
