New vegan + new pregnancy
Hi! I transitioned to vegan on the 21st of September, it was pretty sudden after a few failed attempts until I finally made the ethical connection for myself and immediately stopped consuming all animal products.
Fast forward to today, my period was late which I wasn't too concerned about because I had only just switched birth control two months ago and figured my body was still adjusting. I took a test anyway and it was pretty damn clear, though I still haven't had it confirmed by my doctor so it could still be a false positive.
My first instinct was to literally run and buy pregnancy vitamins just in case, which I then found out contain fish oil (I still took them :/ which made me feel like a failure).
I guess my question is that because I have only been vegan for such a short time (1 month to be exact) is it safe for my "assumed" fetus to continue? I've just recently finished my last exams and so I have a lot more time on my hands to do meal prepping to make sure I get everything I need, but this is certainly one area that I haven't done ANY research and my brain is a little all over the place right now.
Overall I do eat very healthy (except the last three days where I gave in to a rather unusual and almost uncontrollable desire to eat a packet of ginger nut biscuits for lunch).
