Well, after the racey topics we've had lately this stuff seems mundane. But hey, I'll got with UTI's for four hundred.

Or menopause, that's another good idea.

I liked the racey topics too but I thought these are good topics. I think they are topics that there are a lot of myths and fears about. I think most young women just don't want to think about it but it's important.

Last year I was a teaching assistant for a psychology of women class. The morning of a lecture the professor called me up and said she was sick and asked if I could give a lecture. I agreed and asked what topic was hoping it was something related to what I've read (pregnancy, abuse, legal issues, harassment etc). When the prof told me it was menopause I never died. I then realized I knew very little about the topic except for what I had seen on television. I didn't have anytime to research the topic so I decided that on top of the movie that was going to be shown, I was just going to get the class to have a discussion about the topic: what they know, what they've seen their mothers go through, what's portrayed on television and what questions they have. It turned out to be a really interesting discusssion.

My friend went into artificial menopause at age 20 as part of a treatment for endometriosis. She said she doesn't want to do it again. She was constantly having hot flashes.

I've been going through it for about 2 years now. I believe I'm on the tail end of it. Had a hysterectomy 3 years ago due to pre cancerous tumors in my uterous and ovaries. I also have endo. It sucks but what are you going to do. I'm making lemonaid!

UTIs are very very common in women because of our anatomy. Most women will get atleast one in their life time but some are unfortunate enough to get re-occurent ones.

Yes cranberry juice. Last time I felt a UTI coming on I started drinking liters of it. I think it helped. UTI's and yeast infections are so uncomfortable!
