Okay. I have read that women burn 100 more calories per day when they are on their period, for whatever reason. That makes sense and would justify a craving for 2 apples or something during my period.
Yet about 1 1/2 weeks before my period, I have a few days where I need about 500 extra calories, and I do mean "need." I feel famished without those extras, and it's not like I'm low on calories, anyway. I make sure I get AT LEAST 1,750 every single day and 95% of the time, I'm at 2,000. So what's the deal? Can anyone explain this phenomenon? Does this happen to others? Am I weird?
I do the same thing, but during most of my period i'm so sick and crampy i can't eat, so i always assumed that it was because my body knows i'm about to starve it. You ovulate almost exactly 12 days before your period, so that could be it too.
