Don't freak out if it shocks you at first. I admit that I was shocked at first (although I can't explain why), but after having visited the site a couple of times, I don't get overwhelmed like the first time.
I don't think the vaginas are gross, but I also don't understand people who say that vaginas are beautiful like flowers. To me, flowers will always be prettier than even the most beautiful vagina.

I think you feel more comfortable looking at breasts because you see them all the time, in changing rooms, your own, people wearing swimsuits or low cut tops, on TV, adverts where people are mostly naked but the nipples are covered, you're always getting eyefulls of boobs. You basically never see vaginas as a straight woman, not even your own unless you go out of your way to. So I guess that's why it's more shocking.

I didn't see the website, it isn't something I want to see. Also, I'm not at all self concious about how my vagina looks, so for me there isn't the same motivation to want to look. But thanks for sharing anyway!

People are...self conscious about their lady garden?

Wow. I had no idea. I figured theyre all the same...its not like the penis, where men can feel embarrassed if its on the small side...

I know err some women worry about being too big

But vaginoplasty is the biggest rising form of cosmetic surgery which is pretty much all about aesthetics

Eep!

I can kind of understand breasts and how they can make people feel self conscious, because like it or not, theyre always on display...even in tops that arent low cut.
So my thought is that its only ones other half who will be seeing the other bits...unless youre a stripper or something then confidence probably isnt a problem

It's probably easier for women with larger breasts. My breasts are quite small, so I'm pretty sure I can't just weigh them on a kitchen scale (haha, what a mental image I just created there!).

Speaking of documenting female body parts in a non-erotic way, I know a website that contains pictures of - well - vaginas. This is the one: http://www.kussomat.dk/kkdkpix.html It's in Danish. Click the bottom link to get to the pictures. To see more pictures (they're showing 9 at a time, always in random order), click the link that says "Se flere billeder" (see more pictures).

The pictures are exactly what you would expect. Photographs of different women's vaginas. However, some people (both men and women) feel uncomfortable or even grossed out when watching these pictures.

EDIT: I'm sorry, this was a bit off-topic. I don't intend to turn the discussion towards vaginas. Keep on talking about breasts.

Those are vulvas, vaginas are only the inside part. It's like calling your lips/mouth/teeth your throat. Learn your anatomy, ladies!

Who needs keys when we've got clubs?
Who needs please when we've got guns?
Who needs peace when we've gone above?

That bothered me for a while (to the point I was wandering into the kitchen and yelling about it to the poor boys in there ) but I think, actual anatomy aside, vagina is commonly understood to include the vulva as well. I think it's in even in the dictionary like that now.

The interview on the left explains how this all came about.

First of all--OWW!
And second--wouldn't that damage the nerves down there??

I can understand breast augmentation, because for some women it really helps their self-confidence (and if I didn't have better things to spend my money on, I might consider a lift--2 years of breastfeeding has taken it's toll), but that's at least something people SEE.
