My husband and I are trying to conceive and my midwife told me to take prenatal vitamins. I've tried 2 different vegan brands and both make me nausious. Does anyone have a suggestion on a brand that might be more gentle? I've tried taking them with food, without food, in the morning, and at night. Also, does anyone know of a brand of fertility vitamins that are vegan that they'd recommend?

I'm not pregnant, but I'm taking Solgar's prenatal, which are vegan because they fit my needs right now. I usually take them with an evening meal with no troubles. The iron causes problems for lots of folks, I think (with nausea).

I didn't know you can take these during Trying to Conceive. We are trying to conceive this year as I am eating healthier and maybe losing some weight this year

Hope I can make this story short. For years I didn't think I could get pregnant due to me trying years ago. So last year I decided to try and because I read about prenatal vitamins and conceiving. Well I change my diet, started eating health plus ate way less meat due to me reading about the hormones that are in it and I started taking prenatal vitamins. To my surprise I got pregnant but I didn't know I was pregnant until the day I miscarried. I was getting my period every month on time. I miscarried early maybe around 7 to 8weeks.

I took Nature Made Multi prenatal vitamin. I believe whole foods has vegan vitamins but I'm not sure.

Yes, I read that's it good to start taking them before you get pregnant.
