Yes! Blonde Redhead! Have you heard their other stuff?

Muse is alright, but my all-time favorites would have to be Radiohead(the gods of indie rock), Blonde Redhead, and The Mars Volta. The music is beautiful and complex.

The Decemberists, The Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine, Placebo, The Cure, Dinosaur Jr, and Gorillaz are also worth mentioning.

I'm not really seeing much indie rock or hip hop here. Aesop Rock, anyone?

OMG seriously they are like "we are an all rock band and emo is sh*t and we aren't emo were just punk rock and we're awesome blah blah" they suck to but eh the goo goo dolls don't claim to be rock or punk there pop rock and they admit it.

Aesop Rock writes some of the best hip hop I've heard. It's definitely worth your time to try his None Shall Pass or even No City.

Some teenagers hear mainstream hip hop and develop an antagonism against the entire genre, but it's just as varied and complex as any other. =)

And since when is going "pop" a sin? It's just short for "popular", being liked -- the holy grail for most musicians, I bet. There just seems to be a lot of elitism surrounding the music scene these days.

wow. old school stuff?

nice.

i have fallen for everclear again.

applesauce: you are right it is wrong to develope a hate for a whole genre like that, and i will admit that there are some pretty good pop songs out there and i really didnt dislike pop so much till Fergi and hannah montanna (what kind of name is hannah montanna??) and all of them showed up so i guess it is really just the main stream i hate with a passion so much...

OK and we release a TV show and then the movie n theaters and then the TV movie and 4 years worth of cd's and then we come up with a totally outrageous new cash cow in like 5 years" It is so true.

Anyway my fave bands are R.E.M. (LOVE Michael Stipe), Tool, Interpol, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Death Cab For Cutie, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Ani DiFranco, Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips, Elliott Smith, Modest Mouse, Guster, Explosions In The Sky, My Morning Jacket, to name a few. Muse is super awesome. Goo Goo Dolls old stuff is good, up to Dizzy Up The Girl. I was a big Cure fan in high school.

I'm really into a couple songs lately, but I haven't checked out the bands yet.

Let's Dance to Joy Division - The Wombats

I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance - The Black Kids

L.E.S. Artistes - Santogold

Plus I Will Possess Your Heart by Death Cab is great, the music video is even better; check it out on YouTube.

My favorite band EVER is Evanescence. EVER, Amy is sorta like my idol. I love the music. It's deep, meaningful, complicated, rich, full, beautiful, angelic, but so effective.

YAY AMY!

My second favorite band is AFI. Davey Havok! *drool* Haha, he's vegan! lol. Anddddddd he has a LOVELY and unique voice and the music is very deep, magical, mystical, intelligent, anbd different. :3

I'm a big fan of the group known as Gnarls Barkley. Their most popular song is undisputably "Crazy", but that is actually the song of theirs that I like the least. I also like Coldplay, Dragonforce, and Weird Al. I know Weird Al isn't a band, but he is still one of my favorite artists. I have an unusual taste in music, I must admit.

Yay

Matt is a genius, seriously!

His voice is out of this world, and his guitar and piano skills are insane, he also writes and composes all Muse songs, and we gotta say that some are just to good to be true, not only the lyrics but the melody, the riffs... everything!

Actually, Rage are coming to Portugal this year but I already spent my money on a summer festival with Kaiser Chiefs, The Offspring, Linkin Park and the great MUSE!
