There was a marathon of the show on mtv (i think). I was just wondering if any of you saw the one where one of the girls was a vegetarian. If you didn't, the scene went down something like this:

On the show, there's one person who is playing to find a suitable date. There are five members of the opposite sex in a van that follows the current pair on their date, and when the contestant decides he's had enough of one person, they will say "next" and another will come out of the van. Those in the van win money according to how long their date progresses....i think.

The show featured a guy who had already "nexted" three of the other girls. When the fourth joined him, they started to tie-dye t-shirts. She mentioned that since she was an art major, it would be a fun project. She then mentioned the school she attended and guy said "oh you go to ___ ? How's the food? I've heard it's pretty terrible."

She agrees and says "yeah, no kidding. all i eat is salad and soup for the most part."

he goes blank for a second and then says, "oh wait, you're not one of those vegetarians are you?"

she pauses and then says, "actually i am".

He says..."well, i'm going to have to next you right now because i need a girl who can eat a full meal".

It had been 4 minutes. The girl had a look on her face that can only be described as a "what the fudge" look....

I turned it off as soon as she got back into the van and called him out on his incredible....ignorance/insensitivity/stupidity/prejudice whatever....

I don't usually watch much tv either...but this confirmed my suspicions that mtv has been good for nothing but music videos...something they shouldn't have strayed from when they first appeared.
