I think she means that if you can find something to appreciate, then you can make life beautiful. And that, meaning aside from LOTR, which, of course, can be appreciated by anyone.
There are some good people out there. Compassionate people. Hell, we have a website essentially based on compassion. The whole world can't be that bad. I mean, I could say I hate a lot of people, which I don't. I dislike many people from their bad/evil actions, and hate the evil that comes from them.
Sometimes we just need a break from life and the people in it. Is that part of why you're so into LOTR? It could also be just the school you go to, or the town you live in. I know, when I went to middle school, I was a miserable person because I matured more quickly, and didn't feel like I fit in. What I was in that time of my life wasn't what I wanted to be. Antisocial, hating everyone... Eventually I got to a point where I wouldn't go to school, my grades dropped far below they ever should have been, I gained a lot of weight, and I became a loner. Because of that I got made fun of a lot... My outlook on life was... a lot like yours. I hated the world. I became absolutely absorbed in music, which is why it's my main passion today. And at that point in time, it was like an obsession. When I got to High School, all that changed, and today, after graduation, I am a better person than I ever thought I would be.
I know it may seem like I am harsh with you at times LotRElfGirl13... Firstly, it's because I'm a moderator... But now I think I *might* understand. This was going to be a short post, then it turned semi self-analytical.
