Thought this forum might like this article about Dr. Spock, you know, the guy who wrote Baby and Child Care.

Here's the link:

The article says,

Speaking out on controversial topics was nothing new to Spock. As he put it to me: When I came out against spanking in the 1960s, they said I had lost my mind. He told me that he saw his recommendation that children follow a vegetarian diet as a similar ground-shifting moment and just as vital.

Yeah. I really respect Doc Spock. I even bought his newest edition for my teacher when she went on maternity leave. If that child don't turn out happy, healthy, and well-adjusted then it ain't my fault!

he's got some good stuff, he's got some 'bad' stuff.

as with anything, it's worth taking the good and leaving the 'bad.' i would like to raise my kids veggie--i know it wouldn't be hard. but my omni hsuband feels otherwise.

i don't think he'd be convinced by spock. lol but, nevertheless, i figure they'll be vegetarian. i'm going to SAHM and homeschool/unschool anyway--so i'll be in charge of feeding. if they do eat meat, it'll be very little. ;D

I like it. I love seeing things like this in print outside of VB.
