So I've been dying for something similar to this since I saw the USB ports added in at the airport. In my mind it looks more like a regular USB port in between the two wall plugs you generally see as outlets.

I think this would be really simple and imagine at some point something like this will become standard.

My question is has anyone yet seen something like this that combine both a plug and a USB port (power only, I'm sure there's some sort of room to room thing available, but that's not my interest).

Huh... saw one site (a cnet one) that said you can use a USB hub that's powered (without a computer) as a USB charger. Just plug devices into the hub, and plug the hub in (no computer needed) and it'll charge them.... So that's really close to that -- without being that.

I could see having some outlets made (a special order type of thing) in the future to do this -- but really I think it'd act like a "hub without a computer" that's in the wall and be more of a novelty device or something -- unless of course they make LED USB lights or something that are bright under what, 2.5watts?

I'm think that I have so many devices that can be powered by USB that it would be quite convenient to have them all around the house. PS3 controllers, iphone, camera charger, etc.

The coolest thing would be to have one near my lazy boy so that I can always charge my iphone and the Ps3 controller right there.

Where did you find this, other than that computer jack that would be sufficient

This seems cool, but I don't think something you plug in is that cool. I think it would be a cool selling point in a home in this day an age. "Look you can charge your USB powered devices anywhere in the house!"

if you have a go on their custom designer- you can choose your own plate, what holes ya want in it, what couplers, where you want them, blah blah blah- is fun! : http://www.datapro.net/cgi-bin/plate_designer
