Hi all, helping a friends here who has kids.

Looking for an internet filter and monitoring program that will work on linux. I've tried searching for one but can't find anything that will work for them.

Any ideas?

Have you tried the Squid proxy server?

You can find an article here which covers this:

A Parent's Guide to Linux Web Filtering.

I've got experience of one or two Linux distros, so if I can be of any service, drop me a PM.

Mozilla Firefox.

The browser for your every need (excluding aid for the deaf, we have Opera for that), it has built in web filtering in it's preferences and even then you can probably find add-ons to better it. It's for mac, windows AND linux.

Click here for a list of system downloads and languages.

I think the question was more so toward needing a Internet *Filter* for *Children* not a web browser itself.

I haven't actually been around the board long enough to notice, I have noticed tho that on some of her post's that she has very quick replies, but on this one and a few other's she hasn't set up a reply yet.

So, I'm guessing she may still be doing finals?

She's actually searching for a job now I found out yesterday, I'm sure she won't mind me saying, and has done with exams as I thought.

A new job? That sounds nice, I wish I could find a new job. I want a full time day position to match my wages, but where I live.. It's slim to none.
