You could try changing all settings to default, if not uninstall and reinstall. I'm not really much help but I've faffed about with it and can't find anything that makes it make that noise so it might just be a bit screwed up.

I've tried reinstalling, but it says i need to uninstall my quicktime player first, but i've been searching for hours and can't find anywhere that says "uninstall quicktime" on my computer!

Argh computers!

PID (eww, no wait, that is the abbreviation for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease ) anyway...

what kind of computer/OS are you using?

Interesting! I have conflicts with my DVD software and Quicktime. If I want to view any sort of QT clip, I have to open it with the DVD software or it's garbled and there's not any picture, just lines and undecipherable images.

If your using an SATA drive (that may be a nVidia SATA controlled software/hardware), you can't play/record quicktime clips with quicktime until your update the SATA controller software (windows update has it).

At one time apple said quicktime was incompatible with SATA hard drives, and you should only use ATA drives for movies as a solution.

Thats so strange, you'd think there'd be no problems between 2 peices of software made by one company and packaged together.
