i know there's some code or something you can enter to stop the parental control thing from popping up when you play dvd's but i don't know what it is. we're using our PS2 as a dvd player right now and that parental thing is really irritating. i watch a lot of movies, so if i could somehow take that off that would be great.

anybody know?

Press select and go to the 'setup' icon. Go to 'Custom Setup' and there is an option to change the parental control level and change the password. As far as I can remember, the default password is noted in the instruction booklet.

Mine died, so we're using my roommate's to play DVD's and I'd actually like to know how to disable that too. It's annoying!

While a DVD is actually playing, press the select button on the controller. You should get a bunch of icons. Select the one on the middle row that says 'setup'.

I get messages on mine that ask if i would like to turn off the parental control this once when I watch 18 movies. I'm sure that theres some way to turn it off completly, check the manual. I keep meaning to look but I can never be bothered lol.

ive posted this sum where else on this site but after u do that whole p/w change the movie should start to play.after it starts to play u MUST STOP IT!! and make sure its stopped.once its stopped bring up the menu by hitting select or the button that says display if u have the remote, then scroll over to the custom setup tab and go down to where u see parental conrtols.u should now b able to highlight it and change your p/w and parental cnotrol level or completly turn it off(u have to scroll all the way to the top to turn it off) and thats basically it. if u have n e more problems or questions find me on AIM s/n EV1L6six6. HOPE THAT HELPS =)

I don't have a PS/2, but that's what I found on Google.

Will you post back and let me know if it works for you, LF? I unhooked mine and have been using my computer the past few weeks.
