I knew the company I went with was no good. We've had so many problems with them that now we're switching to a different company altogether, but I had always sort of noticed that our internet isn't as fast as it was back in New York. I guess this proves it lol Thanks for the test links! Once we switch and get the new company all hooked up, I'm going to test again and see if there's an improvement!

Hmm, this doesn't seem right:

3131 Kb/s down
1416 Kb/s up

I have a 10 Mb/s down/up connection, and with downloads, I sometimes get to that speed, so this test is flawed

Somehow I get the feeling that Comcast is stiffing me.

I dumped comcast because of their speed, I went with Verizon FIOS, 25 up 25 down, I usually get down, but less up than they claim, If I run it a 1 in the morning or something I can get over 30 on both. Sometimes I run it during the day when its heavy use and I get 19 down and maybe 18 up.

if you are testing from Romania, you are going through a ton of switches, many different types of cable, fiber, phone lines etc.. to get here.
Your speed can only be as fast as the slowest point of the route. try the baltimore server that I used, you will at least be running 100% fiber to and from that server,, at least until you hit the slow points again.
