Tropico 4 - The spiritual sucessor to the simcity series

I've seen Tropico on sale on Steam a few times. Kinda curious about it.

I think it's a lot of fun. I was able to pick it up on Amazon for $15 (physical copy). Personally, I don't care for Steam, and you always pay full retail.

I've been told by Tropico veterans that Tropico 3 is almost the same game...and that's bound to be cheaper.

I have been very deceived by tropico 3 and 4, i still prefer the first one ( same thing with the total war series ), it just has some charm that the others don't have. But i love the depletion of ressources in the new ones.

It's a nice game, but there is not so much things to do, and i find it quiet easy even on maximum difficulty once you know what to do.

I must admit that playing a despotic womanizer alcoholic dictator on a boiling island where people get thrown in jail every day, having your secret police disguised as cleric, etc, is pretty fun, the music is also awesome.

And i support buiying this kind of games compared to the dozens of FPS.

While we can debate about the business model that is Steam, I picked up a boatload of games for near ridiculously low prices, so, unless I misinterpret you, you don't always pay full retail. EA has an online service similar to Steam; worth checking out.

Welcome to VB lookingup.

I'm not arguing about their business model. Obviously they are successful.

Just my personal experience. Every game that I've been interested in has been full price, even when other sources like amazon or ebay had them for less.( e.g. Civ 5)

I also find the software to be bloated, intrusive and the interface to be busy and cluttered. and maybe I'm old school, but I prefer to have a physical copy.

Its really good! If you like that sort of game.
You get to make choices which affect the game play...its a bit silly but good fun...I made a female character and the dialogue is blantatly for a man, so its kinda funny watching the cut scenes hehe.

The destruction we'd have caused would have been beautiful, I know. Maybe I'll finally get around to doing the online multiplayer thing like a civilized person by the time a sequel or expansion is released.

I'm playing on PC anyway. But yes, it would have been glorious.

Soul Calibur V - made a cute steampunkish girl with Cervantes' fighting style. Having fun with it so far.

I can't abandon the person I used to be, so I carry her.

Been playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the 360 for the past couple of weeks and loving it! I know the game came out 5 years ago but ever since I saw some footage of Skyrim, I decided to play through Oblivion first. Figured it'll keep me busy for a good chunk of the year and hopefully by that point, there will be a game of the year edition of Skyrim with all of the patches properly installed in the game. Once I heard about dragons flying around backwards AFTER one of the patches was installed, I figured it would be best to wait on buying the initial release version of the game at this point.

Got FFXIII today. It is cute. I have not played a FF game in a long time.

I'm going back to the MUDs today, installed tintin++ to play aardwolf... and downloading theocracy. Feel like playing a lot those days.

I finally decided to pick up Skyrim about a week ago because, you know... all the cool people have it, so I have to as well. Only been able to put about a half hour into it though :/ I estimate that it will take me roughly two years to do a playthrough lol.

I've played the hell out of Skyrim since November. I'm just now getting into Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It's quite good too but different, although both games are Western RPGs.

Skyrim doesn't take nearly as long to finish as it seems like it should.(Just the main quest line I mean) I almost never finish games, but Skyrim probably only takes 20 or less hours if you only do storyline.

My boyfriend bought me Dead Rising 2 the other day. It's ok, but I'm not much for zombie games myself.

I think we know who the real monster involved with those games is now.

All games should have zombies.
