This was my first year planting asparagus and now were getting close to winter and i dont know what to do with it. Im getting mixed answers on the internet. Some sites said to cut it back and cover it with mulch and some sites said to leave it long and cover it with mulch.
I have no idea what to do. I live in southern pa close to the maryland line.

Sorry about not responding earlier wink3.gif Too late?

What did you wind up doing?

My asparagus is 6 years old now. It does okay but really needs more sun. We have huge trees.

Anyway, I do cut mine back each Fall. Seems to work.
