I can understand why you have very few vegans in Italy most meals in the Northern Italian region is mainly cheese, butter and cream many friends of mine are vegetarian because they cannot keep away from cheese and eggs at least they try my vegan versions of Italian meals smiley.gif

It's the same in southern Italy, unfortunately. Unless we go to a Thai or sushi restaurant, I'm finding it very hard to order substantial vegan meals.

And actually, I once ordered a vegetarian plate and got pancetta in my grilled artichoke.

It's easy to let go of faith in humanity, and harder to have hope for a better future....but if we all give up, there IS no future.

Hi! I live in Milan and here we have some vegan/vegetarian restourant and in many other place you can find al least vegetarian dishes on the menu. The vegan community is growing!

I never say i'm vegan, i say i'm allergic to many things it's the only way!
Are you italian too?

I'm going to Italy in 2 weeks . . . Florence to Rome and all in between. I am vegetarian, not vegan, so I'm thinking I won't have a problem at all (hopefully). We do have a private cooking class one day and it's already arranged with the chef that we are vegetarian.
