I know I've been asking for a lot of thoughts and prayers lately, but I need some more! This morning I got word from my mom that her younger sister has endometrial cancer. My mom and her sister are only a year apart and have always been close. They come from a very caring and giving family that has unfortunately been hit hard by cancer and other diseases over the years. If you have it in your heart, please send thoughts and/or prayers for my Aunt Margaret.

Original message from my mom:

Quote:
Please say some prayers for my sister. She had a polyp removed and they discovered she has endometrial cancer. She meets with the doctor tomorrow to schedule a hysterectomy. If the cancer is contained that will be all the treatment she needs. Right now she doesn't know if it has spread and is of course very worried.

Thanks, Kingsnorkie. She's meeting with a doctor today. We're all still hoping that the cancer hasn't spread and that they can take it out all at once.

That is everyone's hope!

She's in my thoughts and prayers and so are you.

((hugs))

Here's hoping that things went well. How scary for your aunt!

So far, so good. My aunt had surgery today and the mass was much smaller and easier to remove than expected. They're still waiting for word back from the biopsy, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for now.

Good news! They got everything out with the one surgery.

Quote:

There is no evidence that Margaret's cancer has spread, so she is cancer free!! She will have the usual five years of twice-a-year doctor visits just to be sure, but no other follow-up treatment.

She is getting a bit stronger everyday but must still be home for at least the remainder of the six weeks, and the doctor said she could still experience a pain or two for up to three months.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. We are tired but very thankful for the great diagnosis and for your friendship and prayers.
