I am loosing hope

Today I went to a Vegan seminar. It was quite good. but one thing I found that there are more guy over there than girls and all the ladies who came were quite old. I dont know, if I am taking it in a wrong way, but feels like, people realize about animals and cruelty against them, at a very late age. Being an Indian hindu its even more difficult for people in here to stop consuming milk (because of religious belief). After coming from there, I started thinking that, if its so hard to even meet some Vegan girl at some places, how will I have a Vegan wife. I am loosing hope. Thats how I feel right now. I even tried to join some Vegan dating sites to find people, but seems like, there are just guys mostly and girls dont want Vegan guy or maybe, they fine living with a non-vegetarian guy.
Maybe, its just me who want to settle with a Vegan girl, as I dont feel it as right to push someone to change themselves for me. Looks like I am ganna be alone.

Don't give up hope! Keep looking, I'm sure you will meet someone. I'm not sure what the stats are in India but I know in general there are more vegan women than men: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...n_5063565.html

Hi Manush,

Different seminars will attract vegans of different ages. I've been to vegan events where everyone was over 50. I've been to other vegan events where everyone was in their 20s. If you keep going to different vegan events, you'll see different people.

Which city do you live in? In Mumbai, there is a huge vegan Meetup group: https://www.meetup.com/The_Vegan_Hangout_Station/
.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulty pairing up with a nice lady your own age and who has the same philosophy of life that you do. It's funny to me to read that you are seeing mostly vegan men because when I look at the animal rights videos and the comments that follow, it seems that it is mostly women who are commenting with only the occasional man jumping in with an opinion.

I'm one of those old ladies that you talk about (61) but I understand your reservations about being with someone who perhaps doesn't have the same beliefs as you do. I have decided that if my husband should die before I do, I will never bother with another man again unless he was a committed vegan. I probably won't match up either way to be very honest (as it takes too long to 'train' husbands), but if I did, he would have to be a vegan for sure.

I hope that you will meet someone who is delightful and kind soon, because you sound like a very nice person with good priorities.

It depends on where you live. In the West there appears to be more female vegans though there may be more men in your area. Also, I know more young vegans and more older vegetarians (including one vegetarian who told me her niece is vegan)...I don't know if it's the one place you went to, or a cultural difference.

I personally would settle for a vegetarian though vegan is ideal. Good luck with your search.

Don't give up hope of finding a vegan girl. My husband (vegetarian) works for a small law firm and there are 3 vegans females and 1 vegan man (not counting my husband) there ages varying from 19 to early thirties. I have been a vegetarian since I was 18 and a vegan for some years now. If there are that many in such a small sample then there must be plenty to be found elsewhere. Maybe instead of going to meetings they are all going out looking for guys like you.
