I just figured I would share with the fellow VBers that my wife has decided to become a vegetarian at the beginning of next month. I am so excited!  And so is she, nervous, but excited none the less. Wish both of us luck. :)

Well, she had been thinking about it secretly I think since I became vegan over a year ago. She has always felt guilty about eating animals but because of her family she and her prior experience with their reactions to her wanting to go vegetarian many years ago she figured that she was being crazy and that it would be impossible for her to do so. She has since realized that her family is accepting of meatless-ness( they accept my veganism well enough and were fine when I became a vegetarian nearly two years ago). Also she was beginning to feel guilty every time she ate a piece of meat. So she just decided that she was going to give it a try for a year and see how it goes. She knows that I'll be there for her every step of the way and that I am proud that she is trying something new. :)

That is awesome! Something very similar happened with my spouse - he never liked eating meat, but he never knew that veggie food was actually good. smiley.gif It's also great that you can be a resource for her during this transition - no doubt it will make it a lot easier for her!

Does she have any particular worries?

She's just being silly, she worries she won't have much to eat. I tell her, "If the vegan can find food to eat around here, then you should have no problem" haha she'll be fine, she just gets nervous when there are big lifestyle changes occurring. She'll be ok though, I know she's more excited than nervous. haha

Haha! Yes, the pantry and fridge are 100% meatless! She has her various dairy products and such though, anything is better than her consuming flesh. :)

I made her one of her favorite Asian dishes, Beef and Broccoli, BUT with beef replacer from Trader Joes. She LOVED it. :)

She seems extra happy this evening with all her yummy new veggie foods to eat. :D
