so.. I'll spare you the long details and get the short of it. I am going on a date to cheesecake factory tomorrow night.. >.> What can I eat there that's vegan?

I am planning to look at the menu tonight and call ahead of time to see... but I was just hoping to get some suggestions from other vegans that have already been there.

thanks in advance <3

I don't know--never had good food there myself.

Why did you name the thread rapecake?

I haven't been there personally, but if it's like most cafe type restaurants, they should have fruit available for you at least. And probably soy milk for coffee drinks.

I believe the term rapecake would be a reference to the forced impregnation of dairy cows.

I think the thread title trivializes the horrible act of sexual assault and is inappropriate.

Why not tell the guy your vegan & would prefer to go somewhere with actual options for you?

I assume the OP used the word "rape" because they associate real cow's milk cheese with cows being "raped". Which would be the main reason why they shouldn't even want to go there, so in that sense, it's weird.

Probably because it sounds better than cheesecake.

I would think you could get some sort of pasta dish with an olive oil type sauce or marinara sauce. I would also think you could get a vegetarian pizza with no cheese. The challenge is that you never really know what they put inside sauces and well as even the crust.

First, Gib was right.
Second, I'm sorry if I offended.. I did not do it to make a joke of the horrors or anything.. I was just expressing my angst about going...
the guy knows I'm vegan and just assumed that with their large menu I'd find something.. I guess. Idk last time we went to a vegan place so this time he wanted to try something with a "normal" menu.

Anyway, I ended up NOT going. I'm seeing him tomorrow instead and we are just gonna go to a concert.

Thanks for the help everyone.. and again, sorry if I offended with the title.

I don't agree. Commercial cheese as a rule comes from raped female animals.

Forced impregnation is not rape

Because it's an act of sex, not impregnation, i'm a stickler for definitions, even if two things were on the same level, doesn't mean they have the same meaning.

I'm just saying... Assuming you're female.. What if I held you down and forced a turkey baster full of semen into you.. What would you call that?!

I'm not trying to argue here. I apologized for if I offended anyone, but again I do see it as rape. Let's agree to disagree? We are all on the same side here.

Alix, I don't think that the motivation for rape changes the definition. I'm sure there have been human men who have raped to impregnate, and it's still rape.

I agree. Whilst it is horrible what they do to cows, I dont think it can compare to how a woman (or man) is raped.

Anyway cheesecake factory doesnt exist where I am, but looking at Puppet Master's link id have some pasta and sauce.

In what way it is different so that it can't be called rape?

Back on the original topic, this restaurant chain is actually fairly veg-friendly. The above link seems to be missing some stuff that I've eaten there before. They have a portabello mushroom sandwich, for instance. You'll have to specify to leave off certain condiments (I think it normally comes with mayo), but I don't know why the link didn't include it. I'm pretty sure they also have a veggie burger, but I don't know what's in it, so I don't know if it's vegan.

I know this is old, but I had an awesome experience at one of those places a couple months ago!

I asked if the pasta had eggs in it, it did. So that was out.

I went with the kale salad with the buttermilk dressing on the appetizer page? Only, got a vinaigrette  dressing instead to make it vegan, then ordered steamed edamame on the side. it was really tasty and super healthy! :)

Edit: And, not to open old wounds, but according to the guy who came to my health class yesterday to speak out against sexual violence, rape is definite ads any forced penetration, be it from a penis, a hand, or an object. So, according to him, who came from the Sexual Assault Center, what is done to conventional dairy cows is considered rape. Rape is a terrible, disgusting thing, and I think what these dairy cows go through is terrible and disgusting. Nobody, be it human or cow, deserves to be raped.
