I has my heart set on giving birth in the Royal Women's Hospital Birth Centre. It is a midwife-run facility with excellent accommodation and facilities like birthing pools, gym area etc. I really want a water birth so this is the best plce. Well, I found out today that I didn't get in (it's a ballot system) however I am FIRST on the waiting list which means I will most likely get in as long as I have no problems! YAY! (You have to be low-risk).

Congrats DirtDiva!

I have noticed that a few of us are in the family way at the moment and I'm not sure if these websites/messageboards are known to you all, or if you would be interested, but I figured I would pass them on anyway:

A friend of mine, a new mum, keeps a diary at the essentialbaby website, it is amazing to read her journey, and those of others as well.

When you say us, does this mean you have had a miracle or have adopted? Either way would be so nifty.

Oops! Sorry m'dear, the "us" refers to veggieboarders as a whole.

However- I have recently ovulated for the first time in a couple of years and that is quite the miracle in itself.

DK,

You can borrow mine. They are a little large at this point, but trust me they are a lot of fun, and I am trying to find them girl friends.

I don't know. You have to have to one to get the other, right?

congrats to all the new moms

what about dads, we haven't heard from KC in a while

I'm singin' here to get rid of fear
Hope it disappears right here with the rain
But I know life is pain, not like a fairytale
Meaningless to pray, so just goin' on my way

Congratulations everyone!

Shewolf, I am so jealous that you live near a midwife-run facility--and it sounds like you are sure to get in. When I do get pregnant, I am determined to dig up a good midwife somewhere (there aren't many around where I live). And a waterbirth is number one on my list as well.

Congratulations to everyone!!! My friend is 20 weeks and I think I'm more excited than she is because I've been dying to knit someone a baby blanket. As soon as I found out she was pregnant I made a mad dash for Michael's and bought yarn for the blankie.
