I love my kitties.......  maybe just a hair less on days like today.     You see, today was 'make the cat food day' and my cats are on a raw food diet.    The more I eat plant based, the less appealing the process of making their food becomes.    BUT cats eat meat, and I feel that it's best for them if I feed them closest to what they'd eat in the wild.

I have a black cat (solid; not a single white hair any where on him) and black and white long-haired kitty and a Russian Blue.    While I love all my "children" equally, my silver/grey kitty holds a special place in my heart.

AND there's a kitty outside that seems to think he lives here.    I just moved into this house a year ago, so it's possible that this was his home at some point.    He seems well fed and is friendly, so I don't think he's a stray.   But I'll keep an eye on him anyway.    If he starts looking too thin, I'll put out food and contact a cat rescue.

I love all animals, but I am most definitely a cat person!! This is my cat Fehlix. He is one of the laziest cats I own, which is quite a good thing; he has no interest in catching birds or mice, ever. I love him to bits!!

I have to other kitties as well. Two brothers named Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta is very energetic and loving and loooooves attention.

Goku is really chilled and just likes to relax. And eat. smiley.gif

My cat likes to sit on my laptop, usually as I send an e-mail.

Luna is like that! My kitty is a rescue kitty and has separation anxiety...but she's so darn adorable when she's being annoying!

I love my Maverick, even at 18 he's still well. . .a maverick. Today my uncle was over at our house with his crazy, big black dog. A dog my uncle had a long time ago (also big and black) bit me when I was little and I've been uncomfortable around dogs ever since (except golden retrievers, if I were ever to get a dog it would be a golden retriever they just seem so friendly.) Sorry, off topic, anyway my mom was telling me how nice this dog was when she fed him so I took a chance on meeting him, before I even opened the screen he started barking at me and I turned right around. That's when my cat Maverick came over to the sliding door. My mom and I both closed the glass door and tried to take Maverick away, afraid he would be scared to death at his old age, seeing this big dog, mind you the dog was still barking at me the entire time. In an equally loud voice Maverick started meowing at the dog and stalking him through the window. The dog stopped barking and ran away to my uncle who later told us he'd never seen his dog run like that before. I told maverick what a brave boy he was and gave him extra cuddles and treats today, he's my little hero

Our neighbors found Maverick when he was 5 weeks in a ditch across the street. He had been abandoned in a plastic lined cardboard box for the past two days (which included a cold and stormy night.) He had a brother or sister that had wandered out of the box and got run over. But he stayed and meowed his little butt off knowing some one would find him. Our neighbor brought him over to us because we were thinking of getting a new cat and the rest is history

Oliver's life motto is "If I fits I sits, and if I don't fits, I sits anyway." In the dryer picture those clothes are wet and cold... he jumps in the dryer every time I open it and burrows under the clothes, wet or dry. He's my little angel though, I can't imagine life without my happy little kitty. He is very intelligent, and vocal. He always brings us his toys when he wants to play, and responds to a couple of vocal commands - I've never had a cat do that before! He comes when called, and runs to his room (yes, my cat has his entire own bedroom. I'm a crazy cat lady.) when I tell him it's dinner time. He also will go get a toy and bring it to me if I tell him to. It's soo cute!

***BUMP*** Bumping this thread.....

This past Monday was the 24th anniversary of my adopting my cat Riley. He was fully-grown when I took him in, and I still think about him. He had long, fine, gray fur, with white in his paws, face, and chest, and calm, light tan eyes.

Even by cat standards, he was a ninja: one night he snuck outside somehow, and I didn't find him until I opened the door and found him in between the main door and the screen door.

Every time I was talking on the phone, he'd jump up on the counter beside me... but if I offered to play with him with a shoelace or wad of paper, he'd kind of ignore me.
@Crochetlove post #646, above: I love Oliver's eyes!
