There's a new trend around. You setup playgroups with other people with their dogs. I keep seeing ads for puppy play groups.

There's even a dog meeting site which is like a dating site except it's for people to meet each other based on their dogs.

I'm assuming the people interact too, unless they drop the dogs off to play and leave for a while.

I dunno...I'm finding the concept a bit far fetched. We both have black labs. Huzzah, lets set up a time to meet.. I just cannot see setting up a social event over dogs I guess..Input?.

Why not? Meeting new people can be enjoyable. There are a huge raft of social clubs out there for all sorts of things:- going out to vegetarian dinners, bushwalking clubs, orchid clubs, cycling groups. All these things can be done on one's own, it's just some people find them more pleasurable to participate in with like-minded people, and may not have any orchid-lovers, dog-lovers, vegetarians, whatever in their current social circle.

Personally I'm not big on social groups like this, I'm too grumpy, shy and misanthropic but if other people enjoy going to them more power to them.

Love the post? Why not buy the T-shirt!

Its popular here too. I think it seems like fun. As long as the dogs aren't aggressive towards other dogs, then I think it would be good for them. Puppies need to socialize and meet many other dogs, and this is just one way to do it.

Socialization is important for almost all dogs, even if they have a duo partner @ home. This sounds like a good idea to me!
