yuck

I doubt it hurts particularly (any more than it does us) but I find the whole concept nasty. Like piercing a baby's ears.

Peircing your ears hurt, but our ears are just lump of cartilage. Dogs having particular sensitive ears must go through alot of pain to have them done.

Im glad the site encourages you NOT to peirce animals.

Exactly, animals or babies cannot say: "Yes, please modify my body".

All 4 of my neices had their ears pierced when they were one-year-old! They looked great and they love it now that they're older and they're some of the few kids in their classes who have pierced ears.

I would never pierce my own kids however. That's a decision they need to decide along with circumcision.

and the site makes a good point that almost all dogs would try and scratch that out, ripping it through their ear.

but a goldfish, ugh, the chances of death or infection are so high. I suppose they figure, well if it kills this one we'll just get another.

Eva - looks like the "lip" (see the dice cube hanging from it when you blow the pic up?)

I think the whole thing is just stupid.
