So my cat is about 2 years old. I use to feed her avoderm but 8 months back a situation came up where I had to leave state so my cat stayed with my parents who love animals and also have two cats and two dogs, and they feed their cat **** food from the grocery market(like whiskies or whatever).

So I moved back and into a new place 3 days ago and brought my cat with me. And i know shes nervous because of the move and theres another new cat here but she hasnt been eating solid food.

I cant really aford avoderm so I researched that chicken soup was a good inexpensive brand, she wouldnt eat it. So i feed her some avoderm that my roommate had and she kinda eat it but more so just licked up the gravy. So I went back to the pet store today and got nutro cat food in gravy(in the packets) and when I went to feed her she ran up to it and licked out all of the gravy super fast but hasnt touched the actual food? other than this though shes acting normal. I dont get it? what gives?

Have you checked her mouth? She may be having dental/gum problems, a growth (these are often under the tongue), or cancer of the jaw/mouth.

I would recommend getting her to the vet ASAP.

It could be stress, it could be nothing, it could be something serious. best to have it checked out now.

My cats hate chunks in gravy. They just lick all the gravy and leave the chunks. Maybe try a different style of cat food? You could also get some junk cans to see if she'll eat them, and then gradually mix them with the stuff you want her to eat until she's weaned from one to the other. (Of course if she isn't eating anything you offer, take her to the vet asap)

yeah, my cat just licks the gravy and leaves the chunks. or eats a few then barfs them up. i agree with the rest of what rabid said too- wean her across slowly (10% changes at a time- so she gets used to the change and doesn't get a sore tummy) and take her to the vet if she's off food entirely. and give her lots of cuddles too.
