I am new to the world of being a caring consumer and buying products that are animal friendly. I see where the labels state "not tested on animals" but how do you know if there are animal derived ingredients in them? The only way I have been able to do this so far is to look up every ingredient and where I live there seems to only be 1 brand that state on the label that it is vegan. This is very time consuming so I was wondering if anyone knows of any brands for shampoo & conditioners, hand soaps etc (other then live clean) that are vegan products for sale iin Canada?

if you've got a healthfood shop near you, you'll find a lot of stuff in there is labelled vegan. also, if you have a shoppers drugmart:

-Samy make a 'pure' shampoo and conditioner thats vegan: http://www.samysalon.com/lines/line-samypure.htm

-a decent amount of organic surge stuff is carried in bigger branches too: http://www.organicsurge.com/

-method do handsoap, moisturiser too- you can get that in canadian tire as well as shoppers. http://www.methodhome.com/products-hands-body.aspx
