When some people decide to change their lives, they go cold turkey to give up things they once enjoyed.

A year ago, Lindsay Anderson gave up cold turkey -- and beef, pork, chicken and fish.

Now, in addition to also kicking the milk, egg and cheese habit, the 17-year-old vegan-in-the-making is working with like-minded fellow students at Burlington High School to raise awareness about issues ranging from vegetarian-friendly lunchroom fare to animal cruelty in the livestock industry.

Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals met for the first time two weeks ago.....
