Sometimes I just don't get Greenpeace. First they urge people to eat whales, now they are urging people to eat kangaroos have released a report calling for Victoria to lift a ban on harvesting roos for food.,00.html

Why not ask people to eat beans and rice, fruits and veggies?

That would be far more helpful, as far as the environment goes.

That's just bull, they should be encouraging people to eat a vegan diet, not just moving from one species of animal to another, more environmentally friendly one. Besides which there are more cows on Earth due to the dairy industry than the meat industry, are they going to start encouraging people to drink dogs milk next?

I understand them perfectly. They'd like people to eat vegetarian and they do suggest it, but without real hope that large swaths of people will do it. So they also offer an alternative they think they might actually get: a simple switch in meat type. They're offering a way to produce some improvement in the greenhouse gas problem to people who are unwilling to make large lifestyle changes. It's a classic, and successful, selling technique.
