Very sad story. It's hard to read the sister calling him annoying, as if she's not even sad over losing him. It's weird, sometimes I think it's better in Europe or Canada. That the children aren't as cruel to each other. Like it's just a macho American thing. But, unfortunately teasing seems to be pretty universal. I just don't understand why parents & teachers don't take it seriously enough. The bullies are always such con artists, half the time it's the victim who gets punished for seeking help.
For some reason this story made me think about the movie "About A Boy". The kid is teased by other students for similar reasons. The screwed up thing is (in my opinion) the movie basically blames the kids differences on the fact he has a single vegetarian mother. It really made me angry. It ends with the mother offering to take him to McDonalds, you know.. the first step to being "normal". As if strange kids don't develop from traditional upbringings. Yeah, right. People suck (most of em, anyway).
