I for one, am not very ocntented with the British upper class. They read publications like Tatler, visit overpriced north london restaurants and hold parties.

And the royal family... Ummm... well, I think they've come of age, and it's time for Lizzy, Charlie, Bill & Harry to relinquish the throne.

Now, back on topic, I am not hot on how the royals go hunting & shooting. But then again, they can be as snobby as they want to be, I guess. But, if i were to be honest with my feelings, I'd use a lot of words beginning with the letter "F" to describe how i feel baout the royal family and hunting. haven't these fools ever heard of tetris?? It's much better entertainment than shooting animals, although being a semi-psychopath myself, i can connect with people who do feel joy from ending another's life.

"when he took a shot at a dik-dik, a 14 inch (35 cm) high native deer. "

-----------------------

Wow ...I guess it was self defence

--------------------------

"The admission sparked speculation that he plans to return to Africa to work in conservation when he finishes university, "

--------------

Welll he's certainly making a good start

Oh well if he's fox hunted then everything is humane in comparison

UGH ... don't these people have anything more important and constructive to do.

No, no. He became a real man when he was blooded after his first fox hunt.

Sheesh, these american, what do they know of civilisation?

Heavy on the sarcasm there, in case that wasn't clear.

That's not a joke? Wow ...what a stupid "tradition"....... boggles the mind how that could be interesting in any manner. Whata loser "sport"

No, no joke. Horrible isn't it? It is tradition for your first kill to have blood smeared on your face. I think they put a 2 or 3 finger stripe on your face.

Two thoughts:

1st, why is everything the royal, family do have to be of note?

2nd, I fail to see how killing things is conservation worthy.

And what, exactly, is that meant to mean? That americans are more civilized then the British?

It ment that I consider blooding to be barbaric.

I don't know if it got overseas, but everytime the guy farts it's on the news here, and I go between really not careing, and finding both what the royals do, and the reporting of it offensive.

Blooding after sport hunting is the epitome of the behviour I wish would just die out [0] - it's a good thing that it wasn't forceably exported.

Not having a bunch of toff's who belive that it's _nessecary_ to shove thier sons face in the carcas of a fox, after it's been ripped into bits by a pack of dogs, and defend the practice because it's 'pest control' is a far more mature and civilised behaviour than the UK royal family can lay claim to.

(and breathing...)

The sarcasm was refferencing the 'real man' - 'blooding' connection.

Stuart

[0] Actually, I'd preffer that it never existed - but that's not likely to occur

I hate hunting. Probably not as much as TAG over here, but I do

But let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Pr. William hunts, and that's scummy, but isn't it still true that he is a significant amount less "Prince Charles" than the rest of his family? William and Harry seem to be a step in a less-scummy direction for the royals. I'm for that, even though I'm not for hunting.

I hope you are right Max.

If Diana was still alive I would think they would have been much better off and more like her than him. I hope that will still be the case.

No problem. None taken. It's a touchy issue for us all.

Max, the one worry I can't get over is that they are only hunting less because public opinoin is more against hunting now than it was in Charles' day. If that is the case, I'm not convinced that it's an improvement on thier part. It would, however, be an improvement on the part of the general public.

True, it would certainly be nice if they stopped hunting of their own volition. However, couldn't we flip this around and say "hey, look at the monarchs and how they're responding to the people's concerns about their activities." ?? I mean, they're free people, so they don't have any more or less of a duty not to hunt than any of other British citizen. That they're royals makes it all the more important to notice how public opinion can change people's daily activities.

I find both William & Harry to be u-g-l-y. How's about they stop printing William's picture on everything and calling him a hunk? he's a doofy looking mofo, and now we know he's cruel to boot. Thrillsville

a.) Obviously most females do not find them unattractive.

b.) Being a hunter doesn't make him "cruel".

a.)Nah, most women find fame, fantasy (being a "royal") and money to be very attractive. And I do find many men, very, very attractive, incase you were thinking *that* was the reason.

b.) it does in my book, and I quote only from my book...

I was bron in the UK and have lived in Australia since I was 1, I always thought the Royal Family would be so cool now I hate them so much I wish a bomb would land on Prince William. I wonder if Harry would be doing and drugs and William be assaininating animals if their mother was still alive and now I am all for Australia going independant and what if the Queen dies doesn't Prince William become king or is it Prince Charles?

Prince Charles would become King with the way it stands at the moment. Thoughts are though that Charlie boy will be missed out and William will be the next King.

Sorry there, sunshine, but I know several ladies who find the princes attractive in appearance.

Your book? Sorry, I don't listen to quotes from any book written in crayon.
