" Longfellow said this was only to teach his dog a lesson.

"No! He's a good dog. I just wish he'd stop digging holes!" Longfellow said."

I am serious ... people should be legally required to pass not only a morality test but an intelligence test before being allowed to take care of a dog or any animal. The person sounds truelly not very bright.

Well, at least there's finally a happy ending to one of these stories. I really hope Animal Control succeeds in getting custody of the puppy, so that monster can't get him back.

Oh goodness. The stupidity of people amaze me. If you're having issues with your dog digging perhaps you could do a little research to find out how to prevent this. Nowhere in any intelligent books would you find "bury your dog" as a way to teach him that digging is bad.

Our dog would try to dig under our fence to get into our neighbors yard to play with their dogs so we just started putting boards over the places she dug (not over her) and she got bored with trying to get in there and moved on to just barking at the neighbor dogs instead.

This guy deserves a higher fine than $500 or better yet we should bury him in a hole for a day or two so he knows what it feels like to only have a enough room to breathe.
