A kid who couldn't get financial aid lived in the library...Such a shame the one at my school closes at midnight...

It requires registration, but it's completely worth it.

Interesting story - I wish his weblink worked.

I must say - other than having hardly any belongings with you - the payoff is pretty amazing. Save $15,000 to sleep on some chairs for a few months! That's awesome.

I was kinda upset when I saw this story on the news. I mean, how embarassing to have your name posted saying "yeah this kid was homeless, and he goes to YOUR school!" But hey, if he doesnt mind, I dont either.

That's what I thought -- especially since NYU has severe Ivy-envy and is trying to do everything it can to improve its image. I liked the spin one spokesman had on it, though: "NYU attracts creative individuals..."

Talk about looking on the bright side of life while being crucified.

The title of this thread sounds like a fairy tale.

One of my favorite kids' books:

From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler.

The ones I pity are the ones who never stick out their neck for something they believe, never know the taste of moral struggle, and never have the thrill of victory. - Jonathan Kozol
