Vegan prisoners????!! They've been jailed for protesting, right??....

From today, the estimated 500 vegan prisoners in UK prisons, will be able to order products from Holland and Barrett - which sells a wide variety of nuts.

They will also be allowed to buy a range of ethical products, including make-up, shower gels, lib balm, cellulite oil and facial scrubs from Honesty Cosmetics.

Orders can also be placed with the firm Lavera which supplies cruelty-free sun cream, aftersun, self-tanning lotion and anti-ageing creams.

Excellent!

I bet this is a real relief for some of them. What a shame they're denied their freedom when all many of them did was rescue animals from certain death.

to the idea, but maybe they could be a bit more frugal? I'd hate for the idea to get shot down because they're shopping at H&B/Honesty instead of Superdrug (where they have tons of vegan stuff)

They pay their own money I understand, so it shouldn't be an issue for the government. In fact, it should save the government money, as they'd be eating less prison-provided food.

I think it's great that they are provided with this opportunity...especially because they are paying for it themselves.
