This farm has already been shut down once before, but forced to re-open. The protestors have now been given permission to stay by the local council. It's already been good pre-publicity for the september demo.
Last night a shot rabbit with a rope around the neck was thrown at the camp from the direction of the farm, a sad and outrageous sign that the protestors are already striking a nerve. It annoys me so much that people who care for animals are protrayed as a threat when they are confronted with this despicable violence from abusers all the time.
Just because fur feels so good on coats or helps keep us safe in testing our products doesn't make it right! I'm glad they closed down this place! They are just poor defenseless rabbits, Plus I could imagine how horrible they taste. No really good meat on them. I wish I could do more myself to help. More protests are good protests!
FYI. The camp has now shut down after lasting for a full seven days rather than the planned five. Press coverage was good and little more awareness raised. Hopefully more will attend the national demo on the 26th september.
