Hi

I am in my fifth week of vegan! been doing very well so far.

But coffee, I dont like it black.

If I use sweetener, I use agave nectar

but for "milk"--

I have been using coffee mate and rice milk.

is coffee mate vegan? I know it has bad chemicals and stuff, is there an organic substitute?

what do you use as the "light" in your coffee?

thanks!

You can look up coffee mate's ingredients on their website. One of the ingredients listed on the original flavor (I'm assuming its in the others, too) says "sodium caseinate (a milk derivative)" so, no, sorry, it's not vegan.

I drink it black. Coffee the way God designed it - the only way to go.

I use original or flavored soy or almond milk. Silk makes a coffee creamer that is vegan also.

I use either soy creamer or hazelnut milk, whichever I have at the time.

Does anyone else have a problem with soy milk curdling really badly in coffee?

It's not the temperature, because it happends when the coffee is cooled down and also doesn't happen with hot tea.

Are certain brands better than others? (I use alpro unsweetened UHT)

I almost always drink coffee black, especially if it's really good coffee. But if you really must ruin your coffee... I'd suggest cardamom and sugar (or agave).

Catch a shape in the circles of my mind.
