I don't know any of Kashi's ingredients but I figured some of these (if not all) are veg*n so I wanted to post it here.

The items effected:

Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars in Trail Mix and Honey Almond Flax varieties, 7.4 ounce box with a "Best If Used Before" date prior to September 19, 2009 and followed by the letters CD (SEP 19 2009 CD)

Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars Peanut Peanut Butter, 7.4 ounce box with a "Best If Used Before" date prior to August 8, 2009 and followed by the letters CD (AUG 08 2009 CD)

Kashi TLC Chewy Cookies in Oatmeal Dark Chocolate, Happy Trail Mix and Oatmeal Raisin Flax varieties, 8.5 ounce box with a "Best If Used Before" date prior to July 30, 2009.

These products were also included in some Club assortment and variety packs of Kashi TLC products.

I just bought a box of Kashi Go Lean Crunchy bars, and freaked when I saw this thread. But fortunately what I bought isn't part of the recall. Whew. From their FAQs:

Quote:
Are other Kashi products that contain peanuts or peanut butter affected by the recent recall?

No. The following Kashi products contain peanut ingredients and these products are not involved in any product recall announcements:

Bars:

Kashi GOLEAN® Original Peanut Butter & Chocolate

Kashi GOLEAN® Caramel Peanut Roll!

Kashi GOLEAN® Chocolate Peanut Roll!

Kashi GOLEAN® Fudge Sundae Roll!

Kashi GOLEAN® Oatmeal Walnut Roll!

Kashi GOLEAN® Chocolate Turtle Roll!

Kashi GOLEAN® Crunchy! Chocolate Peanut Protein & Fiber Bar

Kashi TLC® Fruit & Grain Bars Dark Chocolate Coconut

Kashi TLC® Fruit & Grain Bars Pumpkin Pie

Kashi TLC® Fruit & Grain Bars Raspberry Chocolate

I bought the last item in the GOLEAN list. I'm looking for a replacement for the Peanut Butter Cookie Luna bar (my favorite flavor), which IS part of the peanut recall.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that supposedly healthy & natural companies like Kashi and Luna use the same disgusting PB "paste" as more mainstream companies?

Not to defend them but they do say they didn't recall their products earlier because they did not include peanut paste or peanut butter made by the effected supplier. I imagine that once the recall was expanded to include anything that was processed at Peanut Corp's facilities, anything that contained nuts of any sort that may have passed through there needed to be recalled.

What jarred brand of peanut butters are part of the recall?

My mom has two huge jars of JIF on hand, she eats it everyday in her porridge, so I wanna know.

I have been know to dip into them!

With a clean spoon, of course!

I definately likes my PB!

Google is your friend.

AFAIK, from what I was told, jarred peanut butter wasn't effected by the recall, though I may be wrong. Also, the recall expanded so they may be effected now.

I found this:

Quote:
Major national brands of jarred peanut butter found in grocery stores have not been among the products recalled.
