Hi there,

I have a recipe for some vegan candies that I have been wanting to make, but I can not find any 'agar' in my area. Does any one know where I could buy agar in Southern Ontario? I live in Peterborough, if that helps. I have seen others on the boards mention using agar in their recipes as an alternative to gelatin before, so hopefully someone can help me out...

I see them at every health food store around me, as well as Whole Foods (if you are ever in Toronto or Oakville). I buy the Eden brand ones. I'm in Southwestern Ontario, but that is the kind I always see. Good luck!

if you can find an asian grocery store, or a healthfood store, or even a big supermarket with a healthfood section, if they don't have it already, they can get it for you.

I personally couldn't find any here and I live near Vancouver, where there are no shortage of Asian markets. I bought mine off Amazon ^_^

I'm not sure, but I guess you can order it online. I have a discount for iherb (h ttp://nutritionsguru.com/] ) , I definitely know that there is Agar Agar, but it's quite expensive. if there is no delivery to your place, try to look for it in other online grocery
