My girlfriend got me the Veganomicon book for my birthday, its pretty much the most amazing thing ive ever gotten. I made the recipe for seitan from the book, its deeelicious. Also i took some ideas from "what the hell does a vegan eat anyway" blog. This is Marinated and Grilled seitan, with a Mushroom Mousse spread on the inside, wrapped around grilled asparagus. Salt and peppered everything, and baked it. Then poured a white wine mustard sauce over the top...with capers! WOW guys, everyone would be vegan if we ate like this everyday. I think we're gonna shoot another cooking video for this one.

before the oven...

after the oven...

with the sauce poured over...

You MUST MUST MUST post these pictures in one of those threads for people to see... you must.

click "search" at the top of the screen and type either food porn or vegaoimicon into the prompt. It will search for those threads.

f.y.i, i used the recipe from the "what the hell does a vegan eat" blog, to make the mushroom mousse, and the asparagus idea, but i used the seitan recipe from the veganomicon book. The book is incredible though, ive been making **** all week from the book, and ive got TONS of photos that i havent gotten around to posting yet.

Can't wait to see more delicious looking pictures. Was it difficult wrapping the seitan around the asparagus?

not really, i made the seitan about 9"x9", after baking it (which veganomicon suggested, and works AMAZING), i grilled it on the grill pan, then sliced it into 5 strips. It was pretty thick, and together by the time i wrapped the asparagus. I had someone helping me as well though, so right when i wrapped them, the other spare hand tied the knot with cooking twine. then i baked them again. mmmmmm, i want some right now.
