I notice bentos are mentioned in a bunch of threads, but there isn't one specifically about them. Does anyone else pack bentos for themselves or their children?

I've been packing for myself for a couple of weeks now and I've been loving it! It saves me money to bring a lunch, and it allows for a lot more variety than brown bagging. I've got an old Mr. Bento, a Laptop Lunch, and a couple bento boxes.

I was just looking these up the other day! If I go back to work I am sooo packing these. They're so cute and look like they'd hold enough to actually fill me up and would elliminate any plastic bag usage. Vegan Lunch Box.com always uses them and they're just adorable. You're pictures make it solid.... I've got to get some of these

Way back when, I briefly used to post them here. I enjoy making colorful lunches, but I've been way too lazy lately. Currently, I bring a loaf of bread and a jar of PB to work for lunch I'd love to see more bento boxes, so please post away.

I just ordered my first bento box from I Love Obento on Thursday. I can hardly wait until it arrives. They didn't provide a tracking number or ETA, but I suppose this provides some quality suspense?

LOL I hope it comes soon! I made 2 orders in the last 2 weeks so I know how difficult waiting for cute things is!

PS If you haven't found ichibankanusa.com yet, check it out. That's how I got all my supplies right away....and super cheap.

Thanks for posting this. I've been thinking about getting a couple of sets, for like a year now, but never seem to get around to actually ordering them.

Yes, I have a pink laptop luch... just like the pic you posted. I love it! I bring mine to work from time to time when we have staff meetings since the lunch they serve there usually consists of meat. I always get lots of comments on it!

Holy shiitake! I've had my eye on the exact same bento box on eBay for quite some time. The auction had a buy-it-now price of $10 (including shipping).

Now that my red rabbit 2 tier box is on its way, I don't feel too bad about this. However, I am now sorely tempted by the matching chopsticks and bowl (less so, as it's not as portable).

It's a good thing I haven't seen any furoshiki cloths on there. Otherwise, I'd probably order that, the chopsticks, and the chopstick case in a heartbeat. On the other hand, it would be better to make my own furoshiki cloth so it would fit well... despite the fact that this is really cute!

heehee look at the little bunnies! You are strong. I waited until whole sets fit into my budget, because I couldn't bear not to have them all...hehe.

I have a laptop lunchbox. Mmm portion control. I'll take a picture of what I jam inside next time I pack it (which won't be for 2 wks cause I'm not working next week).

I love bento!

I have a blue one with bunnies on it, a Hello Kitty one shaped for onigiri and I have a yellow one with bananas on it coming in the mail.

Unfortunately I only work evenings (teaching piano) and I finished school in April and don't go back till September, so I haven't been packing any lately...

Cooking Cute is my favourite bento website. The stuff she makes is just ridiculous.

I think I'm gonna order from here--it even comes with some vegan soap! (I read carefully--some of her soaps are not vegan, but I think the ones in the bento are--I'm gonna msg her to make sure the glycerin is veg!)

Man these are an awesome idea! What I do at the moment is just have multiple containers each with something different.... but an actual bento box is waaaay cuter. If I'm feeling rich at any point in the future I may jsut invest in one!

It doesn't have to be expensive. You can use a little bigger tupperware container (the lock&lock ones are popular for that), get a divided lunch container (target had some in their seasonal section for $2 or $3), http://www.ichibankanusa.com/ offers most pieces for a dollar, or I found that blue hello kitty one at the dollar tree

Here's #36 for me. It's mostly raw....baby carrots, cauliflower, raw walnuts, kiwi, and 1 tsp (non-raw) veggie dip in a bear

Hah! That was my thought too. I don't like a lot of the fancier ones. They don't look terribly tasty to me. And all the foods are all touching! That weirds me out. I'm first starting to get better about letting dry foods touch in mine.

Thought I'd share tomorrow's.

1 oz raw almonds

5 oz cucumber

5.7 oz black grapes

3 oz baby carrots

2.1 oz green beans

5 oz pineapple

That looks delish!

I love the idea of these bento boxes. Right now I am doing the same thing NZVeggie is doing and the containers are so bulky in my work tote because I want separate ones for each item.

I wonder if there are any German Shepherd themed ones....?? I feel a shopping spree coming on...
