I went to this local farmers market last night, and there was a lady selling a ton of produce, mostly greens. I bought a huge bok-choy, some daikon, a head of lettuce, two bunches of dill and some tomatoes. I also bought some homeade jam, but I wasn't terribly impressed with the size of the jar and the price. I spent a total of $13.50 which was a good price for what I got. The bok-choy is gigantic. It won't fit in my salad drawer
Anyways, does anyone have some recipes they've made before that involve bok-choy and daikon? I've never cooked with daikon before but it's a a Japanese radish and it has a really nice taste. It looks like we'll be having bok-choy for a week! I might cut it in half and send some my mom's way.
Daikon is good - you can use it in a stir fry - or even better - in a soup (with your bok choy, of course). Just slice it thinly, or in strips, and cook it for a bit longer than greens, but not as long as carrots.
