Could you all please complete my questionnaire as it would be extremely useful with in my DT Food Coursework.
1] How old are you?
2] How long have you been a vegetarian?
Less than 5 years
3] When did you become a vegetarian?
4] Why did you become a vegetarian?
Other - Animal Welfare reasons
5] Do you eat all 3 main meals a day?
No - On weekdays I fairly often skip lunch and make up for it by eating loads when I get home.
6] From this list, what do you never consume?
Dairy produce- milk.
Foods contained gelatine.
(I avoid all of the above)
7] Which well known supermarkets do you shop at?
Tesco & Morrisons mostly. (A reminder though: your responses might be a bit screwed up for this question since the majority of the people on this forum are not British. Just sayin')
8] On average, what amount do you pay at supermarkets for your main evening meal?
Less than £5.00 (It's hard to estimate since it varies A LOT and I have ingredients in my house already. But yeah, probably more than £2 and definately less than £5, so I'll go with this one)
9] Do you think that particular foods that you require are available on most occasions?
not sure what this question means. I think that most of the foods I 'need' are available in supermarkets
10] When you are out shopping:
You have to check the ingredients for any animal products.
Foods are often labelled suitable for vegetarians, but I'm vegan, and the food labelling is not as good for vegans. I ALWAYS label read.
11] In the shops, what would you like to see more of;
More variety in quick foods -
More variety in meat substitutes -
More variety in dairy substitutes -
More ideal desserts -
More variety of ideal snacks -
More variety of drinks -
More variety of cultural foods -
(um, all of the above I guess)
