No wonder North Americans are so fat!!!

4EverGrounded 10-17-2006 11:46 AM

Thanks for the link.

...and the sweeping generalization.

berrykat 10-17-2006 11:48 AM

I waiting for somebody to come up with a way to deep fat fry air .......

codemonkey 10-17-2006 11:52 AM

Ew!

vggiegirl 10-17-2006 12:40 PM

My ex tried it at the TX state fair this year...said it was way too sweet.

Deep fried Mars Bars are where its at.

Medesha 10-17-2006 12:41 PM

Slaver...drool....

(Yeah, I'm a coke fiend.)

GhostUser 10-17-2006 01:28 PM

Gross.

And not all americans are fat, thanks.

GanyGreenBean 10-17-2006 01:39 PM

Umm no. I think I will have to pass on that. Now.. deep fried cookies.. *nods*

I bet the dentists are behind this!

GhostUser 10-17-2006 02:08 PM

Fried coke sounds disgusting.

It reminds me of fried oreos at our local fair back at home.

P.S. I'm not fat.

Keelin 10-17-2006 02:23 PM

I saw that on the news the other day!

That's revolting.

Just for the record though, I'm definitely not fat. At all. ;D

TrailMix 10-17-2006 02:24 PM

I'm still not sure what this is. Is it cake, dipped in Coke syrup then deep-fried, or is it something deep-fried then with Coke syrup poured on to it?

Almost anything deep-fried sounds good, but Communism sounded good, too.

My wife swears by deep-fried cheesecake she had in Tennessee. Sounds good!

Dark_Dicentra 10-17-2006 03:19 PM

Eeeewww...

That's all I'm going to say about that...

Expose air to a temperature of 1K so that it freezes, briefly put it in the fryer so that the solid air will not become gaseous, and eat it. Try not to get a frostbitten tounge!

The low wattage comment isn't casting any shadows.

Dirty Martini 10-17-2006 08:25 PM

I'd absolutely try it. Deep-fry pretty much anything and I'm game.

Yes and yes...it's a donut-like cake soaked in Coke syrup (thus the fried Coke) THEN they pour more Coke syrup over it!

I also adore deep fried pickles

GhostUser 10-17-2006 09:32 PM

coke syrup is good for tummyaches.

That's what I was thinking. The only thing I associate cola syrup with is stomach flu. Therefore, I do not find a fried treat made with "medicine" to be very appealing.

and BTW - I am fat. But it's not because I'm sitting on my ass eating double-fried cheese butter dipped in mayo and filled with cream... I have sugar and PCOS issues, but am otherwise healthy and eat a balanced diet and am active... so yeah, what now, bizzznatches....

Jessica Alana 10-18-2006 12:53 AM

I'm jiggly. But I don't like coke. Blech.

Blue Plastic Straw 10-18-2006 01:41 AM

Hrm, that doesn't sound so good. I don't eat much fried food. I prefer my fat-making in the form of cookies.

GhostUser 10-18-2006 07:43 AM

hmm. i like fried food.

fried food is not the enemy- everything is fine in moderation especially if you exercise. the enemy is portion sizes and the TV.

Christopher Jon 10-18-2006 08:39 AM

Me thinks Americans doth protest too much about being obese.

Blue Plastic Straw 10-18-2006 09:02 AM

Obesity is an issue in the U.S. Obesity rates are higher in many European countries, and the rest are not much lower.

Got any more stereotypes you'd like to trot out?

Aimra 10-18-2006 10:55 AM

This fried coke thing just sounds really gross.

The only thing I wish they had at the fair is veggie corndogs. Mmmmmm.

Nishani 10-18-2006 11:21 AM

i'd try it if they did a diet-coke version, normal coke's too sweet for me

sunshinegal 10-18-2006 11:31 AM

Ok, that sounds absolutely disgusting! I am not much of a fried food person because it hurts my stomach. When I go to the fair, I usually get an elephant ear (dough with cinnamon and sugar on them) but I haven't had one in years and I don't really know if they are vegan.

And yes America has alot of overweight people, but does it need to be said? I am underweight so maybe I can balance some of it out.
