Inspired by the "what are you doing for New Year's thread", what are we all drinking on New Years? Mixed drinks? Nog and rum? Rum and coke? Let's hear your favorite mixed drinks!

It's not too Christmasy, but I'd vote for a margarita. I'm also partial to a drink called a Slow Screw (sloe gin, vodka and oj).

Overall though, I prefer a good hot chocolate and a peppermint stick.

mmm...Slow Screws are good. Throw in some Southern Comfort for a Slow Comfortable Screw. It's really good!

My fave is a chocolate martini, or a nice pomegranate martini.

Very Simple, but I always loved the vodka cranberry during the holidays. I buy 100% juice cranberry and a bottle of vodka (though now you can actually buy raspberry vodka) You still have to add the cranberry juice. YUMMY!

While we're at it, why not add a touch of Harvey Wallbanger for a Slow Comfortable Screw Up Against A Wall??

Really, I'm partial to anything fruity and good-tasting.

Or a Brandy Alexander, or anything involving Irish Cream. But so not vegan!

Anyone got a recipe for vegan Irish Cream?

Lately I've been drinking Apple Martinis every time I go out I also like Cape Codders(vodka and cranberry with a lime), and Madori Sour. Oh and I tried a Vodka Collins the other night and I really liked it! Good old rum and coke is good too. Long Island Ice Teas are DANGEROUS! I speak from experience Do not ever drink 3 in a row.

I like gin or vodka & tonic (two limes, please) or gin & OJ or a screwdriver. Not too big on the fruity drinks, myself. (Besides the 2 limes, that is. )

This is going to sound frightening, but red bull and vodka. You need to use a flavored vodka; raspberry works well. I'd rather drink draino than plain red bull, but it somehow icombines well with fruit-flavored vodka.

Frozen soy white russians are a favorite around here right now, along with sour apple martinis and chocolate martinis.

That's not weird. Lots of people drink red bull and vodka, myself included.

I've also tried and enjoyed Jager and red bull.

not a mixed drink, but this holiday i'll be drinking winter beer - dark ale, stout, porter, black-and-tan, spiced ale with vanilla...

if i do need to indulge it a mixed drink, i'll go with one of these:

- coffee with hazelnut liqueur

- steamed milk with amaretto

- hot chocolate with creme de menthe

- lychee liqueur and cranberry soda

mmm, time for a drink...

I would agree that it's not at all weird. I prefer plain tater-water in mine. And if I want the night to go by without any memory of it, "bombs over moscow" - drop a shot of jager in a half a redbull with a shot of vodka in it and shoot it.

On NYE I'll either be alone at home drinking wine and watching movies, or with my pretend GF at an anti-new years non-party drinking delerium tremens on ice.
