I went to my company's christmas party this past Friday and the vegetarian dish was a pasta with orange sauce. It was really yummy.... I wonder hoe they made it. It also had red peppers and some other veggies....

Have any of you made or tried something similar. I'd love to duplicate the sauce at home

Yup, could have been vodka sauce..it's made with cream so thats why it's a lighter orange.

Ever notice how expensive it is in a jar? The market here wants $6 for a jar of the stuff. I say just make it at home.

sauce turns orange when you mix tomatoe sauce with some dairy cream. So, it will rpobably do the same with the vegan substitute Don't know it four sauce was vegan? I don't like it that way very much, because it get very 'heavy' for me, and I already find pasta very heavy.

NONONO, it wasn't vodka sauce... I meant it was orange flavor as the fruit...

It tasted more like an orange jelly.... it was sweat.

I know the sauce you all are talking about. It wasn't the vodka sauceas that's tomato based. This is fruit based (the fruit orange).

Thanks,

Carla

I don't know the answer to that, maybe there was real oranges, orange marmalade or orange extract?

It sounds yummy.

Was it some kind of vinegarette with zest or something? Describe! Describe!

(The though of Orange Marmalade and Pasta isn't really sitting too well.)

Maybe sundried tomatoes? Those are quite sweet.

I like to make an orange sauce for pumpkin ravioli. I mix a table spoon of orange marmalade a tablespoon of butter and then mix in half a cup of fresh orange juice with some rind and lots of black pepper. I just add walnuts cause there's pumpkin in the ravioli but you can put whatever vegies you want in it
