Can you eat them? Seems like a waist.

I don't believe they are edible..not sure though. I think a person would have a lot of stomach discomfort trying to digest a banana peel.

I don't even like the bits of inner peel that sometimes stick to the banana. I cringe when other people eat bananas without carefully inspecting them for bits of skin.

I am the same way. I check it completely to make sure there are "no strings attached".

I believe it's the same as a citrus fruit, you don't eat the outside.

I've nibbled them before, and they taste yucky. Try saving them for compost.

My man eats citrus fruit, peel and all. He's the only one I know who does this but then again, he's the only one I know who can eat a lemon like an apple, too.

Banana skins are yucky to eat, but wonderful to compost.

Ugh. Sometimes, I want to eat an orange, and ther’s no knife around, and I can’t peel the skin easily, I take a bite to start it off. It’s a dreadful taste.

I don't eat citrus peel raw, but homemade candied citrus peel is delicious. My boyfriend likened the taste to fruit loops cereal.

That's too funny because my brother and both his kids (ages 5 and 6) eat lemons and limes like apples. I thought they were the only ones as well.

I have to hide my lemon and lime juice in the back of the fridge because they beg for a squirt.

Very bitter as I remember. I used to hate oranges for this reason, when I was a kid I didn't have the coordination I guess to peel an orange and getting to the insides required biting the bitter outside.
